'SAMHAIN' Ritual Candles
Samhain is the ancient threshold between the worlds: the turning point where the harvest ends and the darker time of the year begins. It's the time for honoring the dead, communing with the unseen, facing the shadows + releasing what can no longer come with us into the next cycle.
These candles were created for exactly THAT liminal space.
The golden serpents represent the ancient cycle of death, transformation, shedding + rebirth. Serpents never cling to their old skin, they shed it. In fact, they would die if they would not shed their skin. To me this year carried the same energy. Samhain carries this same message: what has reached its end must be released so transformation can take place.
The dark red sparkly drip symbolizes blood, life force, ancestral lineage, the underworld + the energy that exists between death and rebirth.
Underneath the serpent is a labradorite crystal, which hightens intuition, psychic awareness, protection + supports navigating the unseen. This makes it a perfect companion for work involving the veil, divination + transformation.
The candle is also dressed with:
šæ Mugwort: herb of dreams, divination, visions + journeys into the unseen
šæ Sage: for cleansing, purification, protection, and clearing what should not cross the threshold with you
šæ Frankincense: sacred smoke, purification, prayer + perfect for communicating with the divine and ancestral realms
š¼ Marigolds: flowers of remembrance + death, honoring of those who have crossed beyond the veil
š Amanita mushroom: invite the protective + ancient spirit of the amanita into your space,
strengthens the connection to the otherworld, associated with Odin
You can work with this candle during shadow work, ancestral rituals, communication beyond the veil, divination + transformation + rebirth rituals and to honor the dead. Light it when you are ready to sit with what is ending š„šš
ā ļø because this candle contains Amanita muscaria, I recommend burning it outdoors or in a well-ventilated space with open windows. Amanita muscaria is traditionally known for its psychoactive effects when ingested. Burning or smudging the mushroom does not have these effects. Burning it is a way to invite the protective + ancient energies of the amanita spirit into your space without overwhelming the mind or body. It primarily changes the atmosphere of your space and feels calming, centering + slightly hypnotic/ritualistic.
